MANGALURU: The Dharma Sansad on Saturday passed a resolution asking the governments to stay away from the affairs of temples, mutts and other religious institutions after sadhus and sants from across the country severely condemned governments in various states that were trying to meddle with its affairs and attempts to take over them.
VHP’s international joint general secretary Dr Surendra Kumar Jain, who disclosed the resolution to reporters, said religious heads condemned governments capturing temples and attempts to capture them mainly in states like Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and even BJP-ruled Haryana. He said temples are being targeted and key posts in them are being given to politicians as a matter of political rehabilitation. “Sadhus even questioned why only temples are being targeted and not mosques and churches as unethical events take place even there.
